Project Summary

For someone with a disability, a veteran finding their footing again, or a young adult aging out of foster care, the hardest part of independent living often isn’t the disability or the past — it’s finding a landlord, and a home, built to actually work with them. North Carolina created a program conceptualized for exactly that gap, and in Taylorsville, Mosaic made that concept a reality.  Wesley Heights is made up of six duplex-style homes, four one-bedroom and two two-bedroom, three fully accessible. It’s small by design and close enough to downtown that a short walk puts residents in reach of daily life, not tucked away on the edge of town where independence starts to feel like isolation. A home built around what you actually need isn’t a small thing — it’s the thing that makes everything else possible.
