Project Summary
The Catholic Diocese of Charlotte had land in Mooresville and a mission to serve people in need, but no clear path to put the two together. Mosaic stepped in as that path, partnering with the Diocese’s Housing Corporation to turn unused ground into Curlin Commons — 40 units of independent senior living named for Bishop William G. Curlin, the Diocese’s third bishop. The timing mattered: Mooresville’s Lake Norman-driven growth had pushed housing costs well out of reach for many longtime residents on fixed incomes. Offset corridors, shared sitting areas, and an on-site chapel were built in deliberately, giving residents daily reasons to connect rather than just a place to sleep.
