Project Summary

When the City of Conover came to Mosaic, the ask was specific: build housing the town’s own workforce could actually afford. Mosaic partnered with the city to do exactly that — 72 units of workforce and affordable housing, funded through Low-Income Housing Tax Credits and the North Carolina Housing Finance Agency. Fernhill Apartments opened in November 2024, with Conover’s Mayor, City Council, and state housing leaders on hand to mark the moment. It’s the kind of project Mosaic points to as a model — public and private partners working toward one shared goal, rather than affordable housing being treated as an afterthought.
