Glenwood Gardens

Project Summary

Gastonia’s senior population has been growing for years, drawn in part by the city’s easy reach of Charlotte without Charlotte’s price tag — and the local affordable housing market showed it. Every LIHTC senior property in the area was already full, with waitlists extending months and years. Mosaic partnered with CAHEC, to add 58 new units to that undersupplied market. The building was designed around aging in place — an elevator, walk-in closets, and keypad-secured entryways — on a site within walking distance of the transit, shops, and medical services seniors actually use day to day. That’s the philosophy behind Glenwood Gardens: aging in place isn’t something residents have to manage on their own, it’s something the building is designed to support.
