Orchard Point

Project Summary

Apple Tree Apartments had housed working families in Sanford since 1998, but nearly three decades in, the property needed more than routine upkeep to continue serving them well. Rather than let it fall into disrepair, Mosaic acquired and rehabilitated the 40-unit community, funded through a Low-Income Housing Tax Credit award from the NC Housing Finance Agency and a permanent mortgage loan from Centrant Community Capital. Construction began in 2024 and wrapped up in mid-2025 under a new name — Orchard Point. In addition to its proximity to schools and employment, for the families who live at Orchard Point, this preservation allowed them to remain in the community that they have come to call home.
