Willow Pond

Project Summary

Named for the real pond that sits at the heart of the property, Willow Pond is intentionally designed to fit naturally into Mocksville’s landscape. Wesley CDC brought Mosaic in to build it, one of several partnerships between the two organizations on senior housing across North Carolina, delivering 50 units of affordable senior housing within easy reach of restaurants, shopping, and area highways. Eighteen of the units are built specifically for residents with physical disabilities — roll-in showers, lower countertops, wider doorways — while energy-efficient appliances and windows keep utility costs manageable on a fixed income. The N.C. Housing Finance Agency recognized the design with a Housing North Carolina Award, citing exactly that balance: a building that fits its surroundings without asking residents to sacrifice accessibility.
