South Briggs: A Call to Action
“When more than half of a student body is facing housing insecurity, that’s not a statistic—it’s a call to action.” – Mosaic Executive Director Bill Bolstad.
Mosaic heard the call and took action.
Construction is officially underway on a 124-unit affordable housing community at Durham Tech, made possible through a partnership between Mosaic Development Group, Durham Tech Properties, and Banc of America Community Development Corporation.
This project started with a hard truth: too many students and families are struggling to find stable, affordable housing. And without that stability, everything else – education, career growth, opportunity – gets harder.
So, we got to work.
By combining Durham Tech’s vision with our development expertise and strong financial partners, we are building more than housing. We are creating a foundation on which students and families can build a future.
This community will serve both Durham Tech students and the broader Durham community, with units designed to reach households across a range of incomes, including those who need it most.
Because this is what it looks like when motivated partners come together to solve real problems.
Not just building apartments. Building opportunity.
We’re grateful to the partners who helped bring this vision to life, including Congresswoman Foushee, Enterprise Housing Partners, Bellwether Enterprise, First Citizens Bank, the City of Durham, and the Durham Housing Authority.
