More affordable, workforce housing coming to Conover

Conover Mayor Kyle Hayman joins Mosaic Development Group in ceremonial wall raising at a critical milestone in the construction of Fernhill Apartments

Slated for completion in mid-2024, this new housing community to provide 72 units of much needed affordable and work-force housing supporting area families.

On Friday September 15th, 2023, Mosaic Development Group invited members of the community to attend a ceremonial wall raising celebrating a major milestone in the construction of Fernhill Apartments. Fernhill will provide much-needed affordable and workforce housing to Conover families. Mosaic marked the occasion with a press conference with special guests, including Mayor Kyle Hayman, Conover Council members Brenda Powell, Joie Fulbright, and Bruce Eckard, and the project’s funders and investors.

Upon completion in mid-2024, this 72-unit, $13 million complex will serve residents who earn up to 60% of the area median income. It will offer 12 one-bedroom units, 48 two-bedroom units, and 12 three-bedroom units. Rents will range from $473 to $640 a month for a one-bedroom, $524 to $760 a month for a two-bedroom, and $601 to $870 a month for a three-bedroom.

Onsite amenities will include a community building with a computer room, exercise room, social and event space, laundry room, office space for management staff, playground and a covered picnic area with grills.
